Understanding the Refinements

In the Spring of 2017, Tulane Athletics began a thorough analysis of priority seating for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball. The findings from this analysis brought forth two main standards we used to refine our priority seating model.

Standard #1:

INCREASE THE NUMBER OF SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

In 2017, priority seating sections on average (% of capacity) were: 46.06% in Yulman Stadium (football), 51.8% in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse (men's basketball), and 40.42% in Turchin Stadium (baseball)

SOLUTION: Remove pricing and process barriers so more fans can purchase Green Wave season tickets.

Standard #2:

ADD VALUE TO ALL SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

The current system rewards season ticket holders who purchase 4-6 season tickets to all three priority seating sports (Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball)

• The average season ticket holder purchases 2-4 season tickets

• Only 6.3% of our fans are three sport season ticket holders (Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball)

SOLUTION: Implement an à la carte, per-seat per-sport, system that empowers fans to make individual choices on seating preference for Football, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball adding immediate value to all season ticket holders.
